With just days to go before the midterm elections, Republicans and Democrats are making their final case to voters to turn out at the polls on Nov. 3.

President Trump made a surprise reversal this week after his last-minute decision to cancel rallies in battleground states, announcing a day later he would travel to Kansas and Iowa for events on Sunday after all.

Polling has shown tight Senate races for Republicans in these states, and in places like Michigan, Alaska, South Carolina, Georgia and Texas.

The candidates vying for Iowa’s open Senate seat — Rep. Ashley Hinson (R) and state Rep. Josh Turek (D) — are scheduled to join CNN’s “Inside Politics Sunday” this weekend.

Additionally, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) will join NewsNation’s “The Hill Sunday” and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) will appear on CBS News’s “Face the Nation” this Sunday to discuss their respective gubernatorial races.

Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ), a nonpartisan election handicapper, places the Democratic Party’s odds of regaining control of the House at an 83 percent probability, according to a Saturday afternoon forecast. The chance the Democrats retake the Senate is around 63 percent, according to DDHQ.

Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin will join “The Hill Sunday” this weekend to discuss how the party is approaching Election Day. Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D), the chair of the Democratic Governors Association (DGA), will appear on MS NOW’s “The Weekend” show.

Beshear, whose name has been floated as a potential presidential candidate, told CNN last month that his party is poised to pick up several GOP-controlled governor’s mansions this election cycle, following victories from Democratic Govs. Abigail Spangerber (Va.) and Mikie Sherrill (N.J.) last year.

The DGA chair has faced criticism after he declined to comply with a request from Latino lawmakers and leaders to invest an additional $10 million in the Texas gubernatorial contest, in which state Rep. Gina Hinojosa (D) is attempting to oust incumbent Republican Gov. Greg Abbott.

GOP candidates in battleground races have sought to confront rising concerns with the president’s handling of the economy amid the Trump administration’s war against Iran and trade fight with Canada.

In a new report released on Friday, the Treasury Department announced that the administration’s economic pressure campaign against Tehran was “decimating” the country’s economy.

The department reported that headline inflation in Iran had risen to 90 percent in September, following the initiation of the U.S.’s “Operation Economic Outcast.” This operation included a U.S. naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, a major oil trading corridor, and sanctions on Iranian oil.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is set to join “Face the Nation” on Sunday.
